"Midnight Moon Sessions" by jeffrey Valenzuela
The midnight moon is calling
and she beckons for a song.
She says, "i've been lonely for quite some time now
but no one pays much mind at all."
So I sing her something new,
unfinished, but sincere.
And in between some random words i rhymed
i confessed "i'm glad you're here."
"It's just sometimes i get blinded,
and confused under the big California sun.
But I prefer the nights we disappear together
without worrying about anyone."
She floats there above in silence
and shines right at me as if to say,
"My son, you know i understand,
but there's no room for me in the day."
And so i close my eyes as dawn arrives
She whispers, "expect a visit from a man.
He'll bring you the gift of dreams when you're asleep.
A friendly stranger made of sand."
