From SoundStrike:
"Sound Strike Artists Conor Oberst and his band Bright Eyes will release the first official song online, Coyote Song. The Song to be sold at www.soundstrike.net. The proceeds from the sale for this song online will benefit The Florence Project. The Florence Project is a nonprofit organization that provides free legal help to immigrants caught in the detention and deportation system in Arizona.
In an open letter to Artists Conor Oberst said, “American ideals of democracy and liberty are built on the foundation that all people, regardless of race or country of origin, deserve fair and equal treatment by the government . . . VIDEO: Girl Crisis
This is the latest installment from Girl Crisis.
Here's a bit of info on Girl Crisis from Stereogum:
"The idea behind it was to a) name themselves as a joke on Boy Crisis and b) exist only in web-video form featuring c) an essentially revolving cast of indie Brooklyn sirens that d) have nothing for sale and will not play live shows but e) are a “long-term” project that records covers of classic songs, learned and arranged just before performing, in a Greenpoint living room on Super 8mm camera". Go to the link above to read more on Girl Crisis.

VIDEO: New Belle & Sebastian Promo
Matablog premiered a new promo video (which for some reason the html isn't working to post here) for Belle & Sebastian upcoming album Write About Love. The video features performances of two new songs "I want the world to stop" and "I didnt see it coming". According to the site it's the first in a series of "televisual transmissions of varying sizes and shapes from us to mark the impending release of the album." You can also watch the video at the band's website.
Also for my fellow Angelenos, the B & S gang will make their way to our beloved City of Angels in next month. This is the first time the band has played here since 2006. See dates below:

VIDEO: RADIOHEAD PRAGUE CONCERT DVD (FREE DOWNLOAD)
Radiohead live in Prague "these are my twisted words"
More after the jump
Some Czech fans have put together a DIY concert DVD of Radiohead's August 23, 2009 concert in Prague. The exciting part is that Radiohead were so impressed that they have put their support behind it and even supplied the amateur film-makers with the audio masters for the DVD. Another fact worth point out is that they are offering a free download of the concert dvd here (as you can imagine the site has been overwhelmed with traffic so be patient). You can also check out some of the songs from the performance on Youtube.

LISTEN: Sister Crayon "Here we never Die"
Recently saw Sister Crayon open up for Fol Chen at the Echo. There was something I liked about the ambient spacey sounds of their opening song "Here We Never Die" (link below) with the delayed slide guitar bits and vocals reminiscent of Mazzy Star's Hope Sandoval. More after the jump.
